JAKARTA | KBA – Finally the residents of Petamburan are relieved. After struggling for 24 years, at the hands of Governor Anies Baswedan, their struggle for justice is over.
Anies issued Governor Decree No. 1596 of 2021 concerning the revocation of Governor’s Decree No. 122 of 1997 concerning the determination of control over an area of +/- 23 hectares of land for the construction of low-cost flats and their facilities in Petamburan Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta Municipality.
This is not the first time Anies has taken an action that signals the state’s presence and that justice belongs to all citizens.
Previously, the Governor of DKI Jakarta resolved the issue of justice in Tanah Merah, by issuing the first Regional IMB in Indonesia directly to residents whose fate had been stranded for decades.
“Permits to construct buildings as one area. Not given per building but given per neighborhood (RT), one RT in one area is the first time in Indonesia there is an building construction permit (IMB) in the form of an area,” said Anies in his speech at Kampung Tanah Merah, Koja, North Jakarta , last October 2021.
Even when Anies was questioned when issuing MB for existing buildings on the reclamation island. However, Anies firmly states “whether the building permit IMB issued or not, the reclamation activities have been stopped.
“The issue of IMB and the reclamation permit are two different things,” said Anies dismissing public doubts about his attitude towards the reclamation project during the gubernatorial election campaign.
Firmly, Anies promised to stop the reclamation project and he has carried out that promise.
No less controversial was when Anies handed over the IMB for the Damai Christ Catholic Church in Duri Selatan, Tambora, West Jakarta, after decades of hanging around and no one dared to take the responsibility.
According to Anies, this is also a question of justice and the rights of citizens to worship. The state must be present, he stressed.
In all the examples of cases above, Anies firmly stated his principle that in matters of justice, the state must be present by providing protection and solutions for citizens.
Petamburan residents appreciate the steps taken by the DKI Provincial Government (Pemprov) under the leadership of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. This was because Anies had revoked the Governor’s Decree (Kepgub) regarding land ownership which they had been waiting for 24 years.
Anies Baswedan issued Governor Decree No.
According to one representative of the Petamburan Citizens Forum, Wahyu admitted that he was grateful that the problem was finally resolved in the hands of Governor Anies. They also intend to invite Anies to come to the residents’ celebration.
“We give our appreciation to the Governor and at the same time we invite him to come to our area for thanksgiving because this is a kind of happiness that we cannot describe,” said Wahyu at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Friday, January 7, 2022.
He assessed that so far, governors have changed and members of the DPR have also changed, it is always difficult for Petamburan residents to ask for help for the Governor’s Decree No. 122/1997. However, after 24 years of waiting, their prayers and wishes finally came true.
“This is a dream come true for us Petamburan residents,” he continued.
He said that Anies was willing to listen to the aspirations of the community, and even followed up by revoking the decision. Unlike the previous governors.
“Thank God, our current Governor, Mr. Anies Baswedan, is willing to accept the correction and he immediately issued the revocation of the decree. So that’s the problem, it’s actually that easy. Governor’s Decree issued by the governor, so the governor who revises it. That’s what was not in the previous governor,” he said.
Wahyu still doesn’t know when the celebration of the Petamburan residents will be held. However, he continued that Anies had said he would attend the event.
Wahyu revealed that with the issuance of the Governor’s Decree Anies, Petamburan residents can now manage 1,123 plots of land out of 2,123 land parcels that have been mapped by BPN. In total there are 23 hectares of land occupied by tens of thousands of residents consisting of 8,000 families divided into 8 RWs that will receive land certification. (kba)
