Great success of Anies’ political safari event in Bandung strengthens the analysis and predictions of political experts that Bandung and West Java in general belong to Anies if the Presidential Election is held in 2024, about one year from now.
LAST weekend, Saturday (21/1), Anies Rasyid Baswedan’s Safari to Bandung deserves to be called ‘Bandung Lautan Anies’ because the capital city of Priangan was crowded with masses of all ages. Old, young and militant mothers from various walks of life warmly welcomed the presidential candidate from the NasDem Party, Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan, visit to Bandung.
During his stay in Bandung, Anies’ various agendas were carried out, not only ‘going healthy walks’ but also brainstorming with West Java figures discussing the populist economy with entrepreneurs from various associations and a meeting with 52 Anies volunteer nodes at the Newton Hotel which was attended by approx. 300 volunteers.
Political expert’s guess is not wrong, that Bandung and West Java in general are ‘belonging to Anies’ if the Presidential Election is held in 2024, about a year from now.
The highlight of the event, of course, is Sunday 22 January 2023 at the Jalak Harupat Stadium. The pride of the Bandung Regency residents’ stadium which proves the claim of ‘Bandung Lautan Anies’. Tens of thousands of masses spilled over to fill the healthy walk with the theme, ‘Step Together Towards the Year of Change in 2024’
The 2024 election will prove the strength of the younger generation of voters, including millennials, who cannot be overlooked by Anies. Thousands of masses also filled the ITB Bandung Sasana Budaya Ganesha (SABUGA) building in an event titled ‘NasDem Youth Festival’.
The enthusiasm of the people of Bandung makes it not wrong to call it Bandung Lautan Anies. As if recalling the big fire incident that occurred in Bandung, West Java, on March 23, 1946. A little less than a year from Indonesia’s independence.
The idea for the event was none other than inspired by the ‘Bandung Lautan Api’ event which showed the determination of the youths along with 200,000 residents who burned their homes and then left the city for the mountains in the south of Bandung. This was done to prevent the Allied troops from making the city of Bandung a strategic military base in the face of the youth’s determination to defend Indonesian independence.
This same spirit has also become an encouragement for Bandung residents in facing the 2024 political year, winning Anies Baswedan’s candidacy for president in order to carry the theme of change so that this country is back on the right track according to the spirit and noble goals of the Proklamas in 2024.
The success of the ‘Bandung Lautan Anies’ program has further strengthened the country’s hopes for
the emergence of a national leader, the dream of all Indonesian people. A leader in this era of change is expected to bring a message of unity and realize social justice for all Indonesian people.
The achievement of the vision and hope was entrusted to the figure of Anies Rasyid Baswedan who looked very excited and happy that day.

Youth festival
On Sunday afternoon, Anies appeared as a speaker in the NasDem Youth Festival series of events which spoke on the theme ‘Youth and Politics’.
“Why is it important for young people that the power of young people is because of its novelty. If youth does not bring novelty he is no longer young. Young people don’t offer biographies. Young people offer plans for the future,” Anies said in front of thousands of Bandung youths.
The novelty that Anies meant was the ability to see the same phenomenon in a different perspective.
“The younger generation is the stock of future leaders. A leader, he continued, is a leader who is able to turn ideas into reality.”
According to Anies, politics is a place where decisions are made today, not the implications of the past, the implications for the future.
“Politics is a place where decisions have an impact on the future. It is the best place for youth to think about the future of their country. These two elements must become one unit: young people offer a future, politics determines the future,” Anies explained
Therefore, according to Anies, young people have a big enough responsibility to determine the direction of the nation. They must care and want to do their part to determine the future. To continue the ideals of the nation they must intervene directly in the world of politics.
“It’s time for us to say that we want this city to be better, this province to be better, this country to be better and we have to intervene together to fix it, agree?,” he said.
Regarding change, Anies advised that young people should not remain silent and must be committed to history for a better future for Indonesia,” he said.
Before appearing in Bandung, Anies did not forget to stop by and say hello to the people of Karawang and Bekasi.
