Commemoration of the Youth Pledge ahead of the 2024 presidential election is important to reaffirm that the nation’s historical journey will soon enter an era of change for the sake of justice and equality, which is not over yet #aminkanindonesia
JAKARTA | KBA – On the commemoration of Youth Pledge Day, a gathering of young individuals from diverse backgrounds and professions came together to express their support for Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN).
This assembly, self-identifying as AMIN Muda, backs the AMIN pair due to their belief that AMIN’s vision and mission align most closely with the interests of the younger generation.
Muhammad Farhan, the coordinator of AMIN Muda, underlined that Indonesia currently grapples with a crisis. Consequently, the urgent national agenda today revolves around restoring the quality of democracy, upholding the rule of law and human rights, combating corruption impartially, and establishing a government that advocates for the people.
Furthermore, Farhan stressed the significance of inter-generational justice within the national agenda. This involves progress towards Indonesia in 2045, proactively addressing climate crises, enhancing human resource quality, ensuring adequate infrastructure and public services, all while being driven by innovation in various facets of life, with active involvement from young people in policy formulation and nation-building.
“Young generations demand justice and prosperity between generations. We demand CHANGE to secure the justice and prosperity of our generation. For us, the demand for justice and prosperity is undeniable; it will either CHANGE or PERISH as a generation,” Farhan emphasized during the gathering at the Coalition for Change Secretariat on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Farhan asserted that Indonesia requires national leaders with a change-driven ethos who can rekindle the nation’s primary objective – realizing Indonesia’s aspirations as an advanced and just nation, as articulated in the fifth principle of Pancasila, Social Justice for All Indonesian People.
“And the only candidate with a collaborative leadership style, one that integrates justice and prosperity, the present and the future, is Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar. They are collaborative leaders with a vision and mission that align with inter-generational justice. Achieving genuine social justice is our future task, through One Justice and Prosperity,” Farhan declared.
During this declaration, Sudirman Said, a member of the AMIN Working Committee (BAJA), accepted the support directly and expressed hope that AMIN Muda would serve as the primary driving force for change and the victory of the AMIN pair in the 2024 Presidential Election.
“It is an honor to witness the extraordinary initiative and movement from AMIN Muda. When young people remain silent, the country has no future. There are always young individuals who are one step ahead. This is an opportunity for young people to become catalysts so that in 2045, when you are at the peak of your careers, Indonesia still stands, perhaps even fairer and more prosperous, thereby achieving a unified prosperity,” Sudirman emphasized.
Meanwhile, Ivan Ahda, Co-Founder of BersamaIndonesia, articulated that the outcomes of today’s elections shape the future of the younger generation. In a context where change is imperative, he asserted that AMIN Muda’s rallying cry, “change or perish,” is fitting.
“To attain a unified prosperity, change is the operative term. As presidential and vice-presidential candidates, AMIN offers a fresh and distinct paradigm, governance structure, and policy approach compared to the existing framework. A paradigm rooted in principles of justice. Justice derived from the preamble of the 1945 Constitution,” stated Ivan Ahda.
In the future, AMIN Muda will continue to work towards securing the victory of the AMIN pair by disseminating and cultivating knowledge grounded in social justice, particularly the concept of inter-generational justice, which forms the core of AMIN’s campaign. (kba)
