JAKARTA | KBA – The recent declaration by the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) endorsing the Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar (AMIN) duo for the 2024 presidential and vice presidential run has garnered praise from the National Awakening Party (PKB) cadres.
Chair of the Giligenting PKB PAC, Sumenep, East Java, Achmad Nawafik, welcomed this bold step, remarking, “PAC PKB Giligenting welcomes PKS’s declaration of support for AMIN,” in his conversation with KBA News.
A proud alumnus of Sunan Ampel State Islamic University, Surabaya, Nawafik stressed the unyielding support of PKS towards Anies Baswedan. He stated, “PKS remains unwavering in its vision for Indonesia. Their ongoing support for Anies, even as he finalized Gus Muhaimin as his running mate, underscores PKS’s steadfast commitment—a testament to coalition strength.”
Nawafik has high aspirations for the alliance between NasDem, PKS, and PKB. He hopes that the coalition remains resilient in backing the Anies-Muhaimin duo in the next five-year democratic party. “The declaration from PKS raises hopes of drawing maximum votes from their stanch and passionate voter base,” he added.
Championing a just nation
On September 15, 2023, the Shura Council Deliberation (MMS) IX of PKS officially endorsed Muhaimin Iskandar to accompany Anies Baswedan on this significant journey.
Marking this momentous occasion, PKS President Ahmad Syaikhu, alongside Secretary General Habib Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi and General Treasurer Mahfudz Abdurrahman, honored the Anies-Muhaimin duo with the national cap.
Expressing gratitude, Anies Baswedan emphasized the vision of their coalition, “Our mission resonates with every Indonesian’s dream a nation upholding justice, equality, and unwavering protection for all its citizens.”
Reflecting on his tenure as the Governor of DKI Jakarta (2017-2022), he added, “It’s a blessing to witness the NasDem Party, Prosperous Justice Party, and the National Awakening Party joining hands in the Change Coalition. We’re hopeful to bring the vision to fruition.” (kba)
