THE 2024 presidential election contest is not just a democratic process to get good and quality leaders, but more urgently leaders who are able to translate the spirit of Pancasila in the life of the nation and state.
This is important, because for nearly 10 years the people have only been filled with empty jargon in the name of Pancasila. Even the implementation of the spirit of Pancasila is also very far from reality, far from expectation.
One important element in the national defense system is ideological resilience. For Indonesia, the ideology meant is of course the ideology of Pancasila. Suryosumarto (1997: 34) states that national security contains the basic principles of the embodiment of Pancasila in all aspects of national life.
Talking about Pancasila ideology, whether we like it or not, we must also refer to Ir Soekarno’s speech at the Meeting of the Investigative Body for Preparatory Efforts for Indonesian Independence (BPUPKI) on June 1, 1945.
In the speech he emphasized that Pancasila is the only ideology capable of uniting the Indonesian nation. In addition, Pancasila can play a role in world peace because it is a balancing ideology between socialism and capitalism ( Hasanudin Wahid, bpip. go.id, October 12 2020 )
Then why should the choice be Anies Baswedan? This refers to the track record that has been carried out by Anies while leading Jakarta and the results of surveys that always bring up the name Anies Baswedan as a potential candidate for president in 2024.
Anies’ track record while leading Jakarta can be said to have been successful not only in realizing his political promises, but also in aligning that pledges with the goals and values of Pancasila in delivering social justice to all the people of Jakarta.

Anies’ decision was challenged by businessmen. Anies was not afraid to face them all. Anies even gave an explanation to the businessmen and convinced them that in the end they were able to accept what Anies decided as the governor of Jakarta at that time.
Too many of Anies’ track records are related to his alignment with the people, so Anies is considered as the antithesis of the current government which is capitalistic and in favor of the oligarchy.
Anies’ assistance to all religious groups through BOTI is proof that Anies is a just and unifying leader. During Anies’ leadership, Jakarta became a place that was comfortable, tolerant and a home for all.
For Anies, Pancasila is not just a rhetoric or jargon and is only uttered in mouths. Anies imitated the nation’s founding fathers why they made Pancasila a unifying ideology in the first place.
Anies truly inherited the soul of the nation’s founding fathers.
Anies’ presence inherited the Indonesian soul and the spirit of Pancasila, not only covered by Indonesia but also the world community.
Anies’ ideas about climate change and its threats and the responsibilities of developed countries at the United Nations, received extraordinary welcome and were agreed upon as part of world cooperation and their responsibilities, so that unity and peace are expected.
Indonesia should be grateful to have Anies, because it is through Anies that the soul of Pancasila comes back to life and is grounded. Indonesia is respected by the world because of the Pancasila spirit spread by Anies.
It is only natural that in the future in the national leadership succession event, this nation can think more rationally, because in that way, this nation will not be trapped in the false image of a potential leader.
